It is with great sadness we report Professor Thomas J. Schoenbaum passed away this June. He was an active member of the MLA and a noted scholar of maritime and international law spanning many decades. He is also known as being the author for his treatise Admiralty and Maritime Law first published in 1987. It is an authoritative work often cited by the state and federal courts.  He will be missed by his many friends, colleagues, and students. Most of all we will miss his gentlemanly presence and thoughtful input to our Association.
